As a member of The Milieu, you will have access to a network of like-minded financial and technology professionals as well as The Milieu’s very own support staff of coaches.

 

To gain access and keep your membership in good standing we ask that you agree to follow a few simple guidelines (“The Milieu Membership Guidelines”):

1)   Privacy (MEMBERS USE ONLY)

Providing a safe and secure environment for our members is our top priority.  Each member controls what, with whom and how they share information.  Our members share their information in good faith to facilitate easy communication and collaboration among members.

Sharing of any other member's information without prior consent may result in your membership being revoked.

​

2)   Member Contributions

Each member brings their own special set of skills and experiences to The Milieu community.  To make everyone’s experience as rich and rewarding as possible we require each member to be an Active member.  We want to make it easy for members to contribute so we allow members to define their own way of contributing. 

​

A few ways members are making an impact today are:

• Contributing a blog post that aligns with The Milieu Mission

• Leading or participating in a group discussion

• Attending a virtual or in-person Meet-Up

• Sharing an article or resource

• Posting an employment or project opportunity

• Being a Milieu Mentor

• Participate in an “Act-of-Service” sponsored by The Milieu  

• Providing any other services toward the development of The Milieu

The more each Member contributes the more we grow together.  We understand that life gets busy so Members that are unable to contribute their membership will be limited until they are ready to come back to The Milieu (no questions or application required).

   

3)   Communication

Professionals choose to join The Milieu because it provides a positive space where ideas can be shared and support can be found.  To that end, all members are required to be respectful to other members and non-members in and outside The Milieu.  Members that enjoy engaging in communication that doesn’t meet The Milieu’s Code of Conduct will be “encouraged” to find alternative forums for self-expression.

Joining The Milieu

The Milieu wants to provide a meaningful experience for all its members so we will only add members if we believe we can fully support them.

Membership Criteria

​

1) Guidelines.  You read and agree to The Milieu’s Membership Guidelines.

​

2) Sponsorship. Sponsorship is a REQUIREMENT.  We hope to open The Milieu’s doors to the broader public but right now we are relying on our current members to recommend individuals from our professional community that:

• Have a real interest in developing deep connections,

• Want to grow both professionally and personally, and

• Have a desire to genuinely help others. 

If you don’t currently have a sponsor, we still want to hear from you.  Individuals that don’t have a sponsor may apply to The Milieu Mentorship Program and if there is a fit a Milieu Mentor will be assigned that can help you gain full membership.

3) Supported Industries.  We are currently only serving Experienced Financial and FinTech professionals.  At The Milieu we recognize that each Industry faces its own unique opportunities, challenges, and stresses.  To help support deep connections between our members we have decided to focus on the industry we know the best.  While we are limiting the industry we serve, we will not limit membership on any other personally identifiable information.  We hope to build a community of diverse backgrounds and thought.

4) Experienced Professionals.  We are currently requiring that members have at least 5 years of professional experience and or have held a leadership position in their identified industry for full membership consideration.  We recognize that years of experience or position held is not a perfect measuring stick however, it is our best gauge at this time.  Members with less experience may apply to The Milieu Mentorship Program and once completed apply for full membership.

 

Each application will be reviewed by The Milieu Membership Committee which meets once a month.
